If you want to gain a better understanding of the culture surrounding a topic, we recommend looking at one year's worth of data, which is the default timeline when you run a search. Choosing a shorter timeline makes sense if you're looking to examine the impact of a specific season or major event.

Cultural anthropology teaches us that to understand the future we have to look at the present rather than the past. It is in the present that we can gather the most critical clues that tell us about how meaning is changing around a topic of interest.
This is why we recommend looking at one year’s worth of data, so that we can understand the most dominant systems of meaning that are shaping the future of a topic in culture. Which is also why we deliver predictions only when the recommended time frame is selected. Any deviation into the past will deliver an understanding of maturity and population (in that timeframe) but will not calculate predictions.
